| you looking at me? |
Husband sneezes, Dimitri takes a tissue from the kitchen table and attempts to wipe his (dads)nose. Thank you!
For 4 days Dimitri was more involved with getting dressed. Rather than just pulling trousers up from knees (or ignoring me completely or rolling around on the floor...), took a hold of trousers by waistband with one hand, put one foot in, exchanged waistband to other hand, put other foot in, pulled them up! Rather than just position head and arms while I put his pullover on, took pullover with both hands and pulled it over his head and found the sleeves. Of course it didn't last, back to passive or completely uncooperative. However, "All of this has happened before, and it will allhappen again." (Peter Pan or Battlestar Galactica take your pick).
Look2Learn on the iPod was deleted. Again. Spent several hours reinstalling and editing.
Husband eating dinner, Dimitri running back and forth from kitchen to living room. Dimitri stops at the bread bin, takes a piece of bread and gives it to husband to eat with dinner. Thank you!
New eat-in-take-out macaroni place in Peristeri. The staff know us already.
Small incident inside and outside supermarket. The lying on the floor outside was a bit much, hurt my back (better now but a bit dodgy)
Really? Puberty. Already? Whilst I'm there, (ehem theoretically),(mentally prepared that is), for puberty, sexuality, adult life and all that, is it really necessary for puberty to start early?
Despicable Me trailer has been watched - a zillion times - on YouTube. Will be going to cinema shortly.
Should we go and see Stomp? (Remembering success of the Kodo Drummers)
DVD's and books ordered from Amazon for Christmas, Buzz Lightyear to be aquired later (this week?).
Painting progress report - ........................................ ah, yes well.

Puberty started early for Charlie/us....... And the staff at two Mexican place know us so well, they start making our order when we open the door.
Great going with the getting dressed!!! Repeat, repeat....
Kristina - Dimitri has literally grown so much so quickly I'm feeling quite unprepared (and a little nostalgic although it seems a bit early for that!)
Hopefully it won't be too long a break before Dimitri is interested in dressing again, a lot of his learning seems to go along these lines (start/stop/start/stop), we seem to get there in the end.
Smiling about the Mexican:)
Love the photo and the tissue and bread stories. :)
Sounds like you are prepared for Christmas if not a hormonal surge.
Are there days when you can leave the clothes beside him and wait? Barbara
TherExtras - I like those kind of stories too!
I try to use evenings (no rush for school) more for dressing skills, however, quite often we wait for Dimitri to be more co-operative....He doesn't seem to bothered as to being dressed or not which is a bit worrying (warm weather too for a lot of the year). What is great is these attempts were self initiated!
I'm so excited about Dimitri's dressing attempts! He never ceases to impress me with his skills and how advanced he is. I love the photo too, he is such a handsome boy. But puberty already? Yikes.
erika - looking back it all seems so odd, had/have often thought progress was/is so slow we would never get to X (X being whatever). You know Dimitri can still only stand by pulling to standing? Another point often missed, development is unlikely to be even.
I think he's handsome too:)
Thanks! for the mention of my blog on the Angelman forum yesterday. Barbara
You're welcome:) although how on earth did you track that down!!
Gosh, I've missed visiting you and hope that all is well -- both Dmitri and your beautiful art.
Elizabeth - :), all is well thank you, hopefully will be here more in the new year.
